Crowd Power Now: the Blog

We Welcome the Crowd
Author: Sue
September 8, 09Hello and welcome to the Blog that documents the public events and behind-the-scenes activities of Crowd Power Now.
Our organization uses an innovative technique called crowd-sourcing to gather critical information from our nation’s citizens about current complex Bills and provides the data to the people who need it most: our lawmakers.
The current bill can be reviewed at HealthCareForUs.org.
We invite you, the voters (the crowd) to visit this Blog often and provide us with feedback (comments.) Together, we will work to make a difference in the political process.

Arrrrrrghh!!!!!
Author: Admin-GJW
October 6, 09The CrowdPower ™ article from last week’s New Mexico Business Weekly (NWBW) was mentioned on NPR news last week.
Why the “Arrrrrrghh!!!!!”? Well, the incorrect URL (www.CrowdPower.org) which was listed in the article was also broadcast on NPR! The correct URL is www.CrowdPowerNow.org. Remember the old adage, “I don’t care what they say about me as long as they spell my name right?” Arrrrrrghh!!!!! The good news is that NMBW was kind enough to correct the on-line version. Now if we could only get NPR to mention us again, and use the correct URL this time.

Crowd Power Now Makes the News Today!
Author: Sue
October 2, 09Today we received a very nice first page write-up in the New Mexico Business Weekly: Crowd Power: Skip the pundits, read legislative bills yourself.
The paper was extremely interested in not only the New Mexico connection but also the importance that our efforts may have on US politics. Our only serious regret about the article was the incorrect URL to our site. It should have been CrowdPowerNow.org and we wish they had referenced our Health Care site: HealthCareForUs.org.
Even with the typo and omission, it’s a great piece that we are proud of. We’d love for you to check it out: Crowd Power: Skip the pundits, read legislative bills yourself.
Interviewed by the New Mexico Business Weekly
Author: Sue
September 30, 09Late last week Sheri and Gerry were interviewed by Dennis Domrazlski of the “New Mexico Business Weekly” news paper for a story on Crowd Power and our efforts on HR 3200 (healthcareforus.org).
Dennis, by his own admission, was blown away by the concept and the implementation. He intended to interview Randy Corke, VP of Chaordix, too. On Monday the news papers photographer, Randy Siner, did a photo shoot for the paper at our office. Dennis promised a front page spread on us in this week’s edition (Friday, October 2nd).
We all anxiously await their impressions and, hopefully this will give HCFU a boost in garnering the crowd. If we can, we will have a copy of the article available on our website: crowdpowernow.org.
Launch Day for HealthCareForUs.org – Success!
Author: Sue
September 8, 09The road to Launch Day has been exciting, hectic, fast and furious. For weeks, we’ve been working 12 or more hours a day; early mornings, skipped lunches and working into the wee hours of the night. But the result has been well worth the effort. The team of Crowd Power Now partnering with Chaordix is proud to announce that our pioneer project, HealthCareForUs.org has successfully launched today, September 8, 2009.
HealthCareForUs.org is a unique non-partisan website that harnesses the power of the crowd (you, the voters) to help lawmakers understand the much-debated healthcare bill: HR 3200, America’s Affordable Health Choices Act. Now that we’ve launched HealthCareForUs.org, our job will be to process the input of thousands of citizens as they review individual sections of one of the largest, most complicated and most pertinent bills in our nation’s history.
Hmmm, we’re probably looking at a few more 12+hours days.
